Policy Dialogue & Inclusion
Policy advocacy is essential to ensure that the voices of ASM workers are included in discussions about mining regulations, labor rights, and environmental protections. SRADHA actively engages in policy dialogue at the local, national, and international levels to influence positive change for ASM communities.
Our initiatives include:
- Advocacy for Policy Reform: SRADHA works with government agencies, policymakers, and stakeholders to advocate for laws and regulations that protect the rights of ASM workers, promote safe mining practices, and ensure fair wages. This includes pushing for formalization of the ASM sector and legal recognition of the rights of informal workers.
- Strengthening ASM Workers’ Voices: SRADHA supports ASM workers in organizing themselves into unions or associations, allowing them to collectively advocate for better working conditions, fair compensation, and safer mining practices. We facilitate these workers’ participation in policy dialogues, ensuring their voices are heard in decision-making processes.
- Inclusive Development: SRADHA works to ensure that the benefits of mining and policy reforms reach all members of ASM communities, particularly women and marginalized groups. We advocate for gender-sensitive policies that address the specific challenges faced by female ASM workers and ensure that their contributions are recognized and valued.
