Centre for Agri-Business Management (CABM)
The Centre for Agri-Business Management (CABM) is SRADHA’s flagship initiative driving innovation and entrepreneurship in agriculture. CABM facilitates training, market linkages, and capacity-building for Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), farmer-led cooperatives, and agri-entrepreneurs. The Centre offers technical support in:
- Business planning and enterprise development
- Post-harvest management and value chain integration
- Digital tools for agri-business and market intelligence
- Promotion of agri-startups and climate-smart business models
CABM serves as a catalyst for rural transformation by turning agriculture into a viable and profitable venture for marginalized communities.
Climate-Resilient Farming
SRADHA promotes climate-resilient farming systems to help farmers adapt to environmental challenges and build long-term sustainability. Key interventions include:
- Agroforestry and mixed farming systems
- Water-use efficiency and soil conservation techniques
- Promotion of climate-smart crops and varieties
- Training on early warning systems and adaptive practices
SRADHA has worked with over 10,000 farmers, particularly women and tribal communities, to reduce vulnerability, restore soil health, and ensure productive agriculture under changing climate conditions.
Crop Diversification
To reduce dependency on mono-cropping and enhance income stability, SRADHA facilitates crop diversification programs that introduce high-value, nutrition-rich, and climate-compatible crops. The approach includes:
- Transitioning from water-intensive paddy to pulses, millets, and vegetables
- Linking farmers to niche markets and value chains
- Demonstration plots and seed banks for local adaptability
- Promotion of integrated farming systems including horticulture and livestock
These interventions increase nutritional security, mitigate market risks, and open new income avenues for smallholders.
Organic & Sustainable Practices
SRADHA advocates for organic and eco-friendly agricultural practices that nurture the environment and deliver health benefits. The organization supports farmers to transition towards organic production through:
- Capacity-building in composting, bio-fertilizers, and natural pest control
- Certification facilitation and access to organic markets
- Promoting traditional knowledge and indigenous farming systems
- Encouraging collective farming and marketing
Through these efforts, SRADHA fosters sustainable rural livelihoods, improves soil fertility, and contributes to regenerative agriculture.
Livestock & Dairy
Livestock and dairy development form a core pillar of SRADHA’s rural livelihood enhancement strategy. Recognizing the vital role of livestock—particularly dairy—in providing nutrition, income, and resilience for smallholder farmers, SRADHA implements integrated, community-driven programs to strengthen livestock-based livelihoods with a strong emphasis on women’s participation and sustainabili
Dairy Cooperatives
SRADHA actively promotes and strengthens dairy cooperatives to empower rural communities and create collective market power. These cooperatives serve as inclusive platforms for small-scale dairy farmers—especially women—to access:
- Veterinary and breeding services
- Bulk milk collection and chilling infrastructure
- Transparent pricing mechanisms and fair market access
- Financial literacy and enterprise training
Through its support to over 30 grassroots dairy cooperatives, SRADHA has facilitated increased milk production, better quality control, and improved bargaining capacity, enhancing incomes and food security across several districts.
Animal Health & Nutrition
SRADHA prioritizes animal health and nutrition as a key determinant of livestock productivity and sustainability. Working closely with veterinary experts and community para-vets, SRADHA delivers:
- Regular animal health camps and deworming drives
- Vaccination programs and disease surveillance
- Training in balanced feeding and fodder cultivation
- Promotion of indigenous breeds and ethno-veterinary practices
The organization also advocates for climate-adaptive livestock practices, helping farmers mitigate risks and improve milk yield, meat quality, and overall herd resilience. SRADHA’s holistic approach ensures healthier livestock, reduced mortality rates, and long-term economic benefits for livestock-dependent households.
Food & Nutrition Security
SRADHA views food and nutrition security as fundamental to human development, community resilience, and equitable growth. Our approach integrates agriculture, health, and community systems to address the root causes of malnutrition—especially among vulnerable groups such as women, children, and marginalized farmers. By aligning with national nutrition missions and global development goals, SRADHA advances inclusive, sustainable, and locally driven nutrition solutions.
Community Nutrition Programs
SRADHA’s Community Nutrition Programs aim to reduce malnutrition through behavior change, food diversification, and improved dietary practices. Implemented in rural and tribal areas, these programs focus on:
- Nutrition-sensitive farming to increase household access to diverse foods
- Home and community gardens producing vegetables, fruits, and medicinal herbs
- Village-level nutrition schools and recipe demonstrations
- Capacity building of frontline health workers and women’s collectives
These interventions are complemented by social behavior change campaigns that promote healthy eating, hygiene, and care practices, ensuring lasting community impact.
Women & Child Nutrition
Recognizing the disproportionate burden of malnutrition on women and children, SRADHA places a strong emphasis on their nutritional well-being as both a right and a catalyst for change. Our work includes:
- Nutrition counseling for pregnant and lactating mothers
- Growth monitoring and dietary supplementation for under-5 children
- Adolescent girls’ nutrition programs, including anemia control and menstrual hygiene education
- Promotion of biofortified crops and micronutrient-rich foods
By engaging self-help groups (SHGs), anganwadi centers, and schools, SRADHA ensures that nutrition interventions reach those who need them most—creating healthier families and stronger futures.
Policy Research & Advocacy
SRADHA combines field experience with evidence-based research to shape inclusive policies in agriculture, livestock, nutrition, and rural development. We believe that impactful development must be informed by grassroots realities and backed by strong policy frameworks. Through rigorous research, strategic advocacy, and collaborative dialogues, SRADHA influences policy landscapes at local, state, national, and regional levels, ensuring that the voices of smallholder farmers, women, and marginalized communities are heard and reflected in decision-making processes.
Research Publications
SRADHA has produced a wide range of research publications that explore key themes such as:
- Climate-resilient agriculture
- Gender equity in agri-food systems
- Livestock value chains
- Food and nutrition security
- Inclusive rural livelihoods
Our research outputs include policy briefs, working papers, case studies, and field reports—all grounded in participatory methodologies and validated by community insights. These publications have informed stakeholders from grassroots networks to global institutions.

We are committed to promoting sustainable, climate-smart solutions that mitigate the effects of climate change while enhancing the adaptive capacity of smallholder farmers and rural communities. By integrating agroecological practices, renewable solutions, and community-based adaptation, SRADHA empowers farmers to safeguard their livelihoods and contribute to environmental sustainability.
Agroforestry & Soil Conservation
SRADHA promotes agroforestry systems and soil conservation techniques as natural solutions to restore degraded land, enhance farm productivity, and improve ecosystem services. Our initiatives include:
- Integrating trees with crops and livestock to diversify income and stabilize soils
- Promoting contour farming, cover crops, and organic mulching to reduce erosion
- Supporting community woodlots and native species plantations for carbon sequestration
- Enhancing biodiversity and microclimate regulation on farmlands
These practices not only mitigate climate risks but also improve long-term soil health, water retention, and agricultural resilience.
Biomass & Waste-to-Value
SRADHA champions biomass utilization and waste-to-value models as circular economy approaches to rural sustainability. We work with farmers and communities to:
- Convert crop residues (e.g., paddy straw) into organic compost, briquettes, and bioenergy
- Promote mushroom cultivation and vermicomposting from agri-waste
- Train farmers on low-cost technologies for biomass recycling and soil enrichment
- Reduce stubble burning and environmental pollution through sustainable alternatives
These efforts create green livelihoods while reducing greenhouse gas emissions and improving soil fertility.
