Building Resilient Farming & Mining Communities Through Health
At SRADHA, we believe that health is the foundation of sustainable development. Our community health programs are designed to support smallholder farmers, farm women, and artisanal and small-scale mining (ASM) communities—groups that often face systemic barriers to healthcare, clean water, and sanitation.
Our goal is simple: empower communities to lead healthier lives through education, improved access, and behavior change.
🧼 Community Health & Hygiene
SRADHA’s health and hygiene initiatives focus on:
- 🌿 Reducing waterborne diseases
- 🚻 Improving sanitation in rural and mining areas
- 🧕 Empowering women and youth as health champions
- 💧 Promoting safe water practices
We engage directly with communities—especially in underserved rural and mining regions—to raise awareness and enable lasting behavioral change. Our work ensures that health knowledge becomes health action.
Key Interventions:
- Health Education Campaigns
We promote handwashing, menstrual hygiene, safe water use, and clean living environments to reduce diseases like cholera, diarrhea, and typhoid. - Improved Sanitation Infrastructure
Toilets, hygiene kits, and clean water solutions are provided in schools, households, and work areas—especially where miners and farmers live. - Community Outreach & Participation
Health programs are co-designed with local volunteers, community leaders, and frontline workers to ensure relevance and impact. - Clean Water Access
We support sustainable water systems and purification methods to ensure safe drinking water, especially in high-risk mining zones.
🚨 Emergency Response & Global Recognition
SRADHA played a vital role in delivering rapid health support during the COVID-19 crisis in rural farming and ASM communities.
💡 Our impactful response was featured on the DELVE platform—a global initiative by the World Bank’s EGPS program—showcasing our leadership in emergency response for marginalized miners.
📣 Behavior Change Communication (BCC)
We use innovative, community-based BCC strategies to shift health attitudes and encourage lifelong habits.
Our BCC Approach:
- 🎯 Targeted Messaging
Custom health messages on hygiene, nutrition, and disease prevention delivered through posters, village meetings, radio, and mobile outreach. - 🗣️ Community Dialogues
Forums for farmers, miners, women, and youth to share experiences and find shared health solutions. - 🎓 Training & Capacity Building
Local educators, health workers, and volunteers trained to sustain community-led health promotion. - 📊 Monitoring & Feedback
Continuous feedback and adaptation to meet the evolving needs of the communities we serve.
